BIO

Lorien grew up in Leicester and studied Fine Art at Sheffield where she gained a BA(hons) before moving to London where she is now living.
She discovered her passion for all things clay after 15 years art directing in film and then another 15 raising a family.
Introduced to sculpting animals in clay at Southwark adult Education college she was nominated Wildlife artist of the year in 2016 after only two years as a practising sculptor and exhibited at the Mall Galleries with her piece 'Gentle Giant' which embraced her other passion...  conservation.
She is committed to donating a % of any earnings from her wildlife sculptures to relevant charities and is collaborating with the charity Elephants for Africa with her series of baby elephants doing yoga, which will result in a 2020 Calendar.
Not confined to wildlife however, she has also taken up portrait sculptures, both human and animal, Working as she does mostly from photos this allows her to recreate loved ones both living and passed.
'Sculpting is my yoga, it's how I zone out.  Put a lump of cold clay in front of me and to transform it into something living and warm that resonates with people? I cant think of anything I'd rather be doing.'
